“You Are”
Charlie’s classic 2010 record “You Are” from his fifth studio album, Just Charlie, finds the veteran telling his partner how much she means to him and how she’s“ the reason I love, the reason I trust,” and “the reason I come home every night.” The track was a commercial hit that earned the singer-songwriter a career-high debut on the Billboard Hot R&B/Hip Hop Songs chart.
“There Goes My Baby”
“There Goes My Baby” served as the second single off Charlie’s fourth studio album, Uncle Charlie. Babyface Daryl Simmons And Calvin Richardson are just a few writing legends behind the Gregg Pagani-produced track. The song, which samples Rose Royce's "Would You Please Be Mine,” earned the singer a Grammy nomination in 2010 for Best Male R&B Vocal Performance.
“Without You”
When Charlie released “Without You,” it’d been nearly a decade since he released the 1992 “Sprung on Me.” The track, which found the star singing about being incomplete without the love of his life, peaked at #26 on the Billboard R&B chart.
The Soul Train Awards 2022 premieres Saturday, November 26 at 8 pm ET/PT on BET and BET Her.
