Big L's Accused Murderer Meets His Fate
With 17 years passing since being initially named the chief suspect of the 1999 murder of New York rapper Big L, Gerard Woodley was shot and killed in Harlem on Thursday night.
According to DNA Info, his murder has not been linked to L's, with no descriptions of the shooter being made available. Woodley, who is suspected of four additional homicides, apparently had a bad reputation.
"He did a lot of bad things and someone decided it was time to go," a source told DNA.
Big L — real name Lamont Coleman — and Woodley were friends prior to his murder, with the latter even being featured in the group photo on the back of the legendary rapper's album Lifestylez ov Da Poor & Dangerous.
Though it was reportedly that there is no connection between the two murders, Big L was shot nine times on W. 139th Street and Lenox Ave., which is also the same spot where Woodley was killed.
