Yes, the World Does Need Another Whitney Houston Documentary
To say that Whitney Houston is a legend feels like an understatement given just how prolific a figure in our music history she was.
Four years after her death, Nick Broomfield will revisit the singer’s life, in conjunction with BBC Two, in a new documentary aptly titled Whitney.
The accredited filmmaker has several successful documentary films already under his belt, including, Sarah Palin: You Betcha!; Aileen: Life and Death of a Serial Killer; and Kurt & Courtney.
As announced, Broomfield will explore topics that may be hard for die-hard Whitney fans to swallow, namely the forces that made and then consequently destroyed the singer. The documentary will hold a focus on the singer’s later years, unlike Lifetime’s 2015 biopic film of the same name.
Details surrounding the new film, such as its release date, have yet to surface.
