Eminem's Sister-In-Law Dies of Heroin Overdose
Eminem’s former sister-in-law, Dawn Scott, has died from a suspected overdose in Detroit. Her body was discovered in a trailer park on Tuesday after an apparent heroin overdose.
Scott was the twin sister of Eminem’s ex-wife, Kim Mathers. Both sisters were childhood friends of Eminem’s and moved in with the rapper and his mother when they were just 15 years old. Years later, Eminem and Kim adopted Scott’s daughter, Alaina, and raised her as the sister of their biological daughter, Hailie.
In the past, Scott had blamed Eminem for not helping her financially while she struggled with drug addiction and homelessness.
The day after Scott’s passing, Mathers posted an online obituary commemorating her late sister. “Dawn was my sweet, beautiful sister who lost her way," she wrote. "I kept a light lit for her hoping she’d find her way back to me. I miss her and love her more than anything I could say.”
The rapper has not yet made an official comment on her passing.
