Rae Sremmurd’s Slim Jxmmi Battery Charges Dropped
Rae Sremmurd’s Slim Jxmmi misdemeanor battery charges against him have been dropped after the alleged victim recanted her allegations.
According to Rolling Stone, the case against the rap artist was dismissed on Tuesday (Feb. 22) online Florida court records state. Slim Jxmmi (born Aaquil Brown) was arrested in Jan. 2022 in Miami-Dade County, FL after allegedly assaulting the mother of his child during an argument at an apartment.
Now court documents are explaining that prosecutors believe they do not have “a good faith basis” to pursue charges against the “No Type” rapper after the woman took back her initial claims.
“Oh wow. This is cap. Dade County y'all are wrong for this. I told you guys he did not hit me. Every officer you guys had in my face are wrong for this,” his girlfriend previously said in a statement according to TMZ.
“No hands were put on anybody, I stated it more than once. It was a loud argument and the police were called. You guys turn nothing into something. It's our sons [sic] first birthday tomorrow, what's wrong with y'all?"
Brown’s lawyer, Bradley Horenstein, responded to the dropped charges in a statement:
“Jxmmi should have never been arrested. Prosecutors refused to even file charges. That should speak volumes about Jxmmi’s innocence.”
It was previously reported that law enforcement said the girlfriend, who was not named, claimed Slim left their house and returned smelling like alcohol, “The alleged victim told cops when she attempted to move their sleeping child from his playpen to a bed, Slim pulled her hair so hard her extension was ripped from her scalp,” TMZ notes.
Cops also claim he chased her around their home after he tried to record him, and when she ran into a room and closed the door, he broke the door down. Slim supposedly through the phone over a balcony.
Bond was set at $1500, according to PEOPLE.
