Ciara Hosts Listening Session for New Album
Ciara is gearing up for combat. After splitting with Jive Records in early 2011, the Grammy Award-winning singer quickly found a new home at Epic Records and is now ready to release her fifth album, One Woman Army. Cici released "Sweat," the first single off the forthcoming LP last night (June 6) via Twitter. The song, which is reminiscent of her synth and bass-heavy hits of the past, features a verse from fellow ATL star 2 Chainz.
“Finally CSQUAD!! the Moment Uve Been Asking 4! Here's my 1st Single Sweat Ft My Boy @2Chainz Ow! Turn Up!,” she wrote.
While the song made its way around the net, Ciara toasted champagne with her friends at a swanky album listening session in New York. Jermaine Dupri, La La, Tricky Stewart and her Epic Records boss L.A. Reid were all in attendance at the celebration. The album, which is getting great early reviews, features songs with Rick Ross and Nicki Minaj, reports The Rap Up.
In an earlier interview with MTV for the promotion of That's My Boy, a film she will co-star in with Adam Sandler, Cici spoke of her reunion with Reid.
"I'm excited, I'm back with L.A. Reid, who is the reason why I'm here," Ciara shared. "It's 10 years since, and I'm finishing up my album called One Woman Army. You guys are going to be in for a treat very soon."
This new album will mark the first release for the Crunk & B songstress since 2010’s Basic Instinct, which featured the super racy video for the lead single "Ride." The project was a commercial disappointment, producing the lowest selling chart debut in her career.
One Woman Army is expected in stores this October.
