Metro Boomin Launches ‘Single Moms Are Superheroes’ Initiative With Steve and Marjorie Harvey
Metro Boomin is using his platform and resources to help celebrate single mothers with a new initiative.
Introduced during the Atlanta Falcons game on Sunday (December 4), the mega producer’s “Single Moms Are Superheroes” is a partnership with the Steve & Marjorie Harvey foundation and treated 26 mothers and their children to a VIP game experience at Atlanta’s game against the Pittsburgh Steelers.
In addition to covering the families’ travel expenses nationwide and providing tickets to the game, Metro also arranged for his guests to access Mercedes-Benz Stadium through the players’ tunnel ahead of the game’s kickoff.
The moms and their children also got a chance to be on the field with both teams for the national anthem. The goal is to spotlight and celebrate single mothers, extending the Steve & Marjorie Harvey Foundations’ work to provide them with resources and support.
“Single Moms Are Superheroes” is an important initiative to Metro Boomin, who tragically lost his mother, Leslie Wayne, earlier this year after her husband allegedly shot and killed her and them himself.
Wayne raised Metro along with three other siblings and was a very early supporter of his music. On her birthday in 2019, he gifted her a birthday purse in the passenger seat of a car, calling her his “biggest inspiration.”
The platinum producer also released his latest album HEROES & VILLAINS on December 2, featuring 30 tracks, comprised of the original 15 songs as well as instrumental versions of each track.
