Mariah Carey is a savage when it comes to getting over relationships!

It was back in October 2016 when the internet was flooded with details about her split with billionaire ex-fiancé James Packer. As expected, the highly publicized breakup was a big deal, but many were absolutely shocked when she was spotted still rocking her $10 million engagement ring—even using it as an accessory while on dates.

It became a part of her everyday bling, darling!

Honestly, we were expecting the 35-carat diamond ring to remain a part of her collection of diamonds used to blind her fans, but according to Page Six, a source said Mariah had one of her business managers quietly sell the ring to a LA jeweler for $2.1 million.

That’s a fraction of the price, but according to the insider, the ring was worth "way less than $10 million." The shade of it all!  

While we don’t have all the particulars of the sell due to a confidentiality agreement that Mariah’s PR team insisted be signed by the jeweler, we do have details of why she parted with the ring.

“Mariah has been very vocal recently about her choice to move forward in her life surrounded by positivity,” her publicist shared with Page Six. “That requires leaving emotional and material baggage behind, including an old engagement ring from an ex-boyfriend.”

For those who may worry selling the ring is a sign of money drama, think again. An insider in Mariah Carey’s camp scoffed at the idea that she was selling the ring for finance:

“She owns multiple homes, her entire catalog of music, and she’s had numerous successful tours and residencies.”
