Kanye West Slammed In New Lawsuit Filings Because He Compared Loisaidas to The Sound of Music

Maybe not the best choice Ye.

New lawsuit filings over Kanye West and Dame Dash’s Loisaidas films reveal Ye made a bold comparison that’s got some people riled up.

According to a New York Daily News, West argued that his new video series surrounding a Lower East Side gangster were comparable to The Sound of Music.

The bachata duo Loisaidas is behind the lawsuit against West and Dash. They claim that West and Dash infringed on their trademarked name by producing a webisode series of the same name.

Attorneys for West and Dash argue that the Loisaidas videos are legally similar to The Sound of Music. But Loisaidas’ attorney beg to differ. “There’s a big difference between thugs rapping in a six-minute video and Julie Andrews singing in a musical on the big screen,” Bostany said. “Mr. West is grasping at straws in a desperate attempt to differentiate his product from my client’s product since they both use the exact same name.”

West’s attorney, Brad Rose, said the Loisaidas/The Sound of Music comparison was to show how absurd the plaintiff’s claim was. He further added that Loisaidas are not music videos and Bostany was trying to mislead the court. Under his logic, Eminem’s 8 Mile would be considered a music video. Dash’s attorney, Natraj Bhushan, agreed and said Loisaidas is a film.

The bachata duo says the films glorify violence and argue that they have caused confusion among their fans.
