Jamie Foxx Mourns the Passing of Beloved Friend and Actor Keith Jefferson

The duo worked on several movies together, including “Django Unchained,” and, most recently, “The Burial.”

Jamie Foxx is grieving the loss of his close friend and fellow actor, Keith Jefferson.

On Thursday, Oct, the Academy Award-winning actor shared the news with his Instagram followers that Jefferson has passed, writing, “this one hurts” alongside a photo of himself and the late star.

“Keith, you’ve been nothing but absolute grace your whole life your heart is pure your love is immeasurable you were an amazing soul,” Foxx said of his longtime collaborator. “We will all miss you dearly. It’s gonna take a long time for this to heal. Goodbye, my friend. I love you.”

In another post, Foxx added, "Everything hurts right now having a hard time looking through these pictures reliving the memories of us having a great time going to miss you man gonna miss you."

He revealed that ever “since we met back in college, you have been in incredible soul God rest, NEVER THOUGHT I WOULD HAVE TO SEE THE WORDS ABOUT MY FRIEND RIP @keith.jefferson Keith."

Last August, Jefferson, who has been credited in films such as “Django Unchained,” “Day Shift,” and most recently, “The Burial,” announced that he had been diagnosed with cancer.  A rep confirmed the star died Thursday, October 5. He was 53 years old.
