‘Good Morning America’ Throws Live On-Air Bachelorette Party for Robin Roberts and Her Fiancée Amber Laign

The couple is expected to walk down the aisle in September.

Robin Roberts is one step closer to her big day down the aisle.

On Wednesday (August 16), her Good Morning America tv family threw her and fiancé Amber Laign a beach-themed bachelorette party live on air.

To get to their celebration outfitted with palm trees, the duo boarded the "Bachelorette Express," as co-host Laura Spencer dubbed it — with Niecy Nash-Betts behind the wheel.

The Claws alum also served as the ultimate hype woman as the couple arrived onstage to the festivities. “Let's get them out here. Robin and Amber, please come check it out. We know that Key West is your happy place so we threw a party with a beach theme."

Other guests included Food Network star Carla Hall, ABC News stars Deborah Roberts, Diane Sawyer, Gayle King, Juju Chang, and Roberts' sister Sally-Ann Roberts.

The couple wore classic white for the party, with a twist. For Roberts, she opted for lace pants and a white blazer, while Laign rocked a jumpsuit.

"This is just incredible," said Laign on how it felt to be honored before her nuptials. As for Robin, the celebration was "wonderful."

The party hit a high note with a performance from R&B group En Vogue who performed a medley of their hit singles, including "Free Your Mind," "Hold On," and "My Lovin' (You Never Gonna Get It), which was followed by a fun Soul Train line that each person danced in.

Although the party was among several close loved ones, one noticeable person was absent: Robin's Sister Dorothy Roberts, who missed it due to a medical procedure. But her sister Sally-Ann gifted her with a personalized cutting board from Sophistiplate that was inscribed with a family recipe that Dorothy helped make possible. For Robin, this moment it brought her to tears.

"You know how much mama is blowing kisses to you right now, and now you have her recipe for rosemary chicken," Sally-Ann explained. "I know you're going to be in the kitchen, where you always are." Robin and Sally-Ann's mother, Lucimarian Tolliver Roberts, died in 2012 at age 88.
