This Reality TV Pastor Is Accused of Stealing From a Dead Church Member

The deceased's granddaughter provided audio of his plan.

Preachers of Detroit cast member Bishop Charles Ellis is caught in the middle of a major scandal after he was accused of conning the granddaughter of one of his dead church members out of her inheritance.

According to The Shade Room, Ellis convinced the deceased to reverse mortgage her home, and he somehow managed to get his hands on the funds.

The site reports that the granddaughter, who has chosen to remain anonymous, wrote to #ObnoxiousTV divulging the details of the scandal in a recording among herself, Bishop Ellis, his attorney and his secretary.

She says in the recording that all of them had a hand in keeping her from inheriting her deceased grandmother's home and even tried to prevent her from learning that it was left to her.

"Together, the three ensured that I never knew about the trust my grandmother created in 1997 and how she had an insurance policy that her trust was directed to use to pay off her debt (including the reverse mortgage she took out and gave to the church)," she said. "So not only did she give the church the money from her reverse mortgage, after she died, the Good Bishop, working with my aunt, and granny's attorney to keep me from finding the trust and deed conveying the house to me. This was the most disheartening of it all."

She went on to explain that since she was a girl, she looked up to Bishop Ellis "as a father figure" and "couldn't believe he would do this to me."

"I'm sure money is his only God," she added. "As long as he can live in a multi-million dollar house with an indoor swimming pool, he can care less about the generational wealth that my grandparents intended me to have via a $120K house."
