Drake & Jermaine Dupri Wrap Production On ‘Magic City: An American Fantasy’ Docuseries Highlighting Atlanta Strip Club
The Drake and Jermaine Dupri-produced docuseries Magic City: An American Fantasy has reportedly just wrapped production.
According to Deadline, the Toronto rapper and Atlanta hip-hop mogul’s DreamCrew Entertainment are among the producers of the documentary, which relays the allure of the famous ATL strip club that has long been a cultural staple of both hip-hop and the general culture of the Georgia city.
“Magic City is a second home for me. It’s the one place where celebrities, hustlers, politicians, and Atlanta locals all come together,” Dupri said in a statement about the series. “I’ve watched it evolve over the years from a local joint to an internationally-recognized spot. It’s about time we tell this story the right way.”

The three-part series is directed by Charles Todd and features interviews with Nelly, 2 Chainz, Quavo, Killer Mike, Big Boi, NBA legend Shaquille O’Neal, and others.
Deadline reports that An American Fantasy will explore “Hip-hop, crime, women’s sexuality, Black entrepreneurship, and socio-economic politics,” as well as look into the club’s founder, Michael “Mr. Magic” Barney.
“The inner workings of Magic City and its prevalence in Hip Hop are remarkably mysterious – it’s a wonder the story has yet to be told,” said Jami Gertz, executive producer of the series. “Atlanta is my adopted home and a place I’m looking forward to celebrating through this story.”
The release date for the series has yet to be announced.
