Previously, it was thought that Jay-Z’s 4:44 Tour ticket sales weren’t moving as expected, but in-fact, they’re selling at a record pace.

Compared to Hov’s 2013 Magna Carta Tour, sales are actually up 21 percent. The reason people have been able to find six-dollar bleacher seats is because Jay’s effectively pricing out scalpers for both high up and closer to the stage seats.

The 4:44 Tour is three dates in currently. According to Billboard, Live Nation, who’s hosting all dates, says this run of shows will be unprecedented for the Brooklyn legend.

"This tour will be the biggest headlining tour of Jay’s career,” Omar Al-Joulani, VP of touring at Live Nation, told the magazine.

The sales represent a shift in how big time tours are pricing tickets. Rather than fans having to shell out the big bucks to get even a mediocre seat, they’re now able to see one of their favorites without having to burn a hole in their wallet.

By aggressively pricing some of the better seats, it takes more pressure off of promoters having to heavily tax upper deck tickets. This, in turn, is causing resellers to sell off tickets for at or below face value.

Overall, Jay-Z’s getting paid more money while fans are having to pay less to get into their city’s show. Win, win.

Live Nation has also been releasing big blocks of tickets just prior to the show, which could throw off presale projections. 10 percent of the total tickets are reportedly sold on the day of the concert. At the Las Vegas stop, 1,480 tickets were sold within 24 hours of Hov taking the stage.
