Hip Hop Awards 2022: 4 Of The Hardest Hustling Women In Hip Hop
The BET Hip Hop Awards is a place where we the rap community can come together to celebrate one another while acknowledging the artists who have had exceptional success this calendar year.
While the award show covers many bases, there are other attributes hip hop artists can possess that, while not directly associated with music, adds to their listening value and overall likeability.
And that’s the ability to hustle.
In 2022, we've seen so many women hip hop artists prove they're all about their business and securing multiple bags. Here’s a look at women rappers leveraging their stardom for different pathways of success
Saweetie
While everyone else was getting caught up in Quavo taking away Saweetie’s Lamborghini post-break-up, sis was cutting deals.
The Oakland rapper, who rose to fame with her hit single "Icy Girl," collaborated with McDonald’s on "The Saweetie Meal," this summer.
Cardi B
If Cardi B’s come up doesn’t prove how much of a hustler she is, nothing will.
From VH1's Love and Hip-Hop in 2015 to her debut single "Bodak Yellow (Money Moves)" and living at top of the Billboard charts, the Brooklyn rapper has been lit since she stepped onto the scene.
But Cardi, who is reportedly worth $24 million, has not built her empire on music alone. She’s also been tapped into her business acumen.
Along with collaborations with Fashion Nova, Steve Madden, Balenciaga, and Reebok, she's dabbled in Hollywood, appearing in Hustlers with Jennifer Lopez as well as commercials for Pepsi and Amazon's Alexa.
Megan Thee Stallion
Although she’s been in the hip hop scene for less than five years, Meg Thee Stallion has done a lot.
Beyonce´ features, number one singles, Grammys — and all since 2017. It’s a testament to her hard work and hustle, which is the same when it comes to her Benjamins.
At the beginning of August last year, the “Thot Sh**” rapper announced that she was the new face of Revlon. And that was following her first-ever fashion deal with Coach in 2019.
Meg knows how to get it done, in and out the booth, and is a good business model for any to follow.

Rapsody
Don't think because Rapsody is an established artist who you don’t see in front of your screen as much as the others that she is out here being stagnant.
She was a part of MCM’s “The Remix Shop” campaign back in October of last year alongside XXL Freshman Fivo Foreign and singer Mary J. Blige.
