Although the George Zimmerman trial has ended and he's been acquitted of the second-degree murder charges in the death of Trayvon Martin, this case is far from being out of the national spotlight.

There have been passionate responses from Americans with (mostly) peaceful protests happening all across the country. The Justice Department says it will continue its investigation on civil rights charges in the case that it began last year. 

And of course, Zimmerman's future and safety has been questioned. His defense attorney Mark O'Mara has even called him a "marked man."

"He has to be very cautious and protective of his safety because there is still a fringe element who have said ... that they will not listen to a verdict of not guilty," O'Mara said.

In a stirring Facebook post, Alex Fraser says Zimmerman will begin to understand "what it means to be a Black man in America:"

"You will feel people stare at you. Judging you for what you think are unfair reasons," Fraser said. "You will lose out on getting jobs for something you feel is outside of your control. You will believe yourself to be an upstanding citizen and wonder why people choose to not see that."
