Jamie Foxx Alludes to Reported Assault In Instagram Post: ‘Can’t Win Here’

The Academy Award winner addressed the physical altercation, which reportedly occurred on Friday.

Although he did not confirm or deny that he was involved in a physical altercation on Friday, December 13, Jamie Foxx responded to the reports in a new Instagram post.

On Saturday, December 14, the Academy Award winner posted an Instagram message, “The devil is busy… but I’m too blessed to be stressed.” The post came just one day after news surfaced that Foxx had been in a fight at Mr. Chow’s in Beverly Hills on Friday during his 57th birthday. According to TMZ, the incident began when Foxx asked patrons at another table to stop loudly shouting vulgarities because his family was there. But after his request, someone at that table allegedly hurled a glass, striking him in the mouth, which required stitches.

But in his Instagram post, Foxx seemed to be in good spirits, turning the attention to his new Netflix comedy special, ‘What Had Happened Was.’ “The devil is a lie. Can’t win here… thank you to everybody that pray and check on me… when your light is shining bright… they try to bring you darkness … but they don’t know that you’re built for it…” he wrote. “The lights have been shining bright… and huge thank yous to everyone that have watched and been inspired by “What Had Happened Was” … number 1 on @netflix if you haven’t checked it out please go check it out it’s from my heart and my soul…"

Police were called to Mr. Chow's at 10 p.m. on Friday after being called about the alleged brawl. According to sources who spoke to TMZ, Foxx had already left when police arrived on the scene. However, the name of the “'They Cloned Tyrone” star was listed to be contacted by authorities. The incident occurred just days after the premiere of “What Had Happened Was,” where Foxx disclosed that a serious brain bleed led to him having a stroke early last year.
