Tori Kelly's Husband Gives Update Following Her Hospitalization: Singer 'Is Smiling Again'

The Grammy Award-winning singer reportedly fainted during a dinner outing with friends on Sunday, July 23.

Tori Kelly's husband is speaking out after the Grammy Award-winning singer-songwriter was rushed to the hospital due to blood clots around her vital organs.

In a brief memo posted to his Instagram Stories on Wednesday, July 25, André Murillo gave fans an update on the “Paper Hearts'' singer. He shared that “Tori is smiling again and feeling stronger.”

The pro ball player cautioned that the 30-year-old entertainer was “not out of the woods but we see the sun.” He went on to add they were still “waiting on a few more answers.”

“Your love and kindness has been overwhelming. Thank you so so much!” he continued.

Kelly shared what appeared to be a handwritten note to her Twitter account addressing the health scare. Speaking to her fans directly, the singer wrote “It’s been a scary few days but I can feel your prayers & can’t stop thinking about you.”

Earlier this week, TMZ reported that Kelly had allegedly collapsed during a dinner outing with friends on July 23 in downtown Los Angeles, according to sources close to the artist.

The incident was said to have been triggered by a sudden increase in her heartbeat, leading to the musician being unconscious for a significant duration.

Friends of the singer refused to have her admitted to a local hospital and instead drove her to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center. She was then hospitalized after doctors discovered clots in her legs and her lungs.

Kelly, best known for her hit "Nobody Love," began her musical career at an early age after appearing on competition shows such as "Star Search" and "America's Most Talented Kids." The singer competed on the ninth season of “American Idol” in 2010. But she was cut before making it to the series’ top 24.

Prior to her hospitalization, Kelly was preparing for the release of new music.

On July 12, she took to her Instagram to announce that her highly-anticipated EP "Tori" was set to be released on Friday, July 28.
