Bruno Mars to Perform at Super Bowl Halftime
Live from New York City's Times Square, Bruno Mars joined the NFL Fox Sunday season kick off telecast to announce that he will be performing the Pepsi Halftime show at Super Bowl XLVIII.
"It's an honor," Mars said yesterday (Sept. 8). "We just got off tour, so to be able to come to New York City and announce this right now ... we're celebrating for sure."
With this news, Mars joins an outstanding legacy of performances that most recently includes Beyoncé, who surprised the crowd with a Destiny's Child reunion at this year's Super Bowl. During the 2012 gig, Madonna invited special guests Nicki Minaj and M.I.A. to share the stage with her.
As to what surprises the "Treasure" singer may have planned, "It's five months from now, so I got some phone calls to make," he said.
This season's game takes place February 2, 2014 at the MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, NJ.
