Chris Tucker Announces Comedy Tour
If you’ve been watching DVDs of Friday or Dead Presidents and wishing comedian Chris Tucker would return to stand-up comedy, he’s about to make your wish come true. Tucker is scheduled for an 18-date national comedy tour.
Hip Hop Wired reports that the Rush Hour star’s tour will begin on August 19 in Long Beach, Calif., and continue until Nov. 26, where it will end in Oakland, Ca.
In the early '90s, Tucker became one of the top performing comedians, gaining the national spotlight after he was invited to perform on Russell Simmons’s HBO showcase Def Comedy Jam. In movies like Quentin Tarantino’s Jackie Brown and the cult comedy classic Friday, Tucker stood out as a comedic actor. But it was his co-starring role in the 1998 action comedy blockbuster Rush Hour, alongside Jackie Chan, that turned the comedian into an international star. But more time spent working on his film career has meant less and less as a stand-up comedian...until now.
Tickets for his upcoming tour will go on sale July 15 and can be purchased at Livenation.com or Ticketmaster.com.
