Zendaya Responds To Rude Comments About Height Difference Between Her And Boyfriend Tom Holland
On Friday (December 10), Zendaya and Tom Holland addressed comments made by people in the public about their height difference and the notion that kissing must be “difficult” for them.
Appearing on SiriusXM Town Hall, the couple and Spider-Man co-stars discussed how “ridiculous” stereotypes for tall women and shorter men are.
After laughing at the height question posed by host Jessica Shaw, the pair said their height differential shouldn’t be a “thing.”
“It's not like, people say like— ‘how did you guys kiss? It must have been soo difficult,’” Holland said, drawing a laugh from Zendaya.
Shaw clarified, explaining the gendered view of height in society is both “misogynistic” and “problematic” and asked the couple to weigh in on the “assumption” that men should be taller than women.
“Yeah, this is normal too,” said Zendaya (who is 5’10”), which Holland (5’8”) agreed with: “Yeah it's a stupid assumption.”
“My mom is taller than my dad. My mom is taller than everyone,” she said, while Holland called the whole subject “ridiculous.”
