Quavo And Takeoff AKA Unc And Phew Drop Their First Collaborative Album And A New Visual
Quavo and Takeoff are getting the weekend jumping, releasing their first album as a duo with Only Built For Infinity Links under the moniker Unc and Phew.
The 18-track album features Birdman, Gucci Mane, Summer Walker, Young Thug, Gunna, YoungBoy Never Broke, and Mustard.
In celebration of the new album, the duo dropped a visual for the record “Nothing Changed” which you can view below.
In an interview with Complex, the rappers shared that they drew inspiration from OutKast’s Stankonia album cover.
“It all started from a mood board. We went all the way back to the old-school mood board, we put that thing together like a project,” said Quavo.
“We brought all of our pictures together from where we grew up, and we wanted to shine a light on how Unc and Phew’s relationship is unbreakable. A Cuban link is one of the hardest links to break, and the modern-day Cuban is an infinity link. And just the word “infinity” obviously means eternity and forever, so when you put that bond together, we looked back and looked up all of the great duos, from basketball duos to musicians to superhero duos, every category.
We went down the list, and Take said, ‘What about ‘built for infinity links,’ and I thought that was hard breaking down the Wu-Tang setup, even with the poses. We got the Stankonia background, the title from Raekwon and Ghostface, and the poses came from Watch The Throne.”
You can stream the album on all platforms.
