T.I. to Azealia Banks: Get Your Man to Address Me

T.I. calls beef between Iggy Azalea and Azealia Banks “b---h s--t.”

While visiting the Morning Riot radio show on Chicago's WGCI recently, T.I. weighed in on the still-simmering tension between upstart Harlem rapper Azealia Banks and his own new artist Iggy Azalea. In the interview, Tip didn't defend Azalea, but instead lectured Banks over some recent comments she made that called him out by name.
"I know that they goin' through their thing," T.I. said of the Banks-Azalea beef. "But the fact that she's speaking upon me and mine... that's what I consider — and excuse my language — that's b---h s--t," he said. "I'm a man."
Previously, Banks had dissed T.I. on Twitter because of an older interview in which he made less-than-gracious remarks about her being left off XXL magazine's Freshmen 2012 list. Iggy Azalea was included on that list.
"Come on T.I.... N****s is not scared of u and whatever s--t u got to say on some radio show," she wrote. "@tip you corny for that one."
When one of his WGCI interviewers suggested that Banks would have done better to address Tip personally, the trap rapper quickly shut down the idea.
"You don't even have any business addressin' me," he said. "Get your man to address me. If you've got a man, get him to address me and he and I can speak on it."
T.I. said Banks should limit her focus to Azalea and keep him out of it.
"Keep dealin' with that woman. Y’all handle that. Me and you, we ain't got nowhere to go with it," he said.
Later in the interview, T.I. said that he has little patience for people who try to start spats by commenting in the media or on a song. He remarked that his own beefs with other artists all began as personal issues that later spilled over into music.
"It's clear that they're looking for attention," Tip said of artists who diss first. "It's just like when you see somebody splashing around in the ocean — you assume that they're drowning."
