Benjamin Crump Developing Legal Series Based On His Life
Benjamin Crump’s life is heading to the small screen.
According to Deadline, Crump is partnering with Emmy nominee Nadia Hallgren, the director of Michelle Obama’s Becoming documentary, and Matthew Carnahan, best known for House of Lies, for a legal series and documentary based on his life.
Hallgren and Carnahan will serve as executive producers, with Hallgren directing the documentary. Kenya Barris, the creator of black-ish, will also serve as an executive producer for the series, which will be released via Netflix.

Hallgren also added, “Ben Crump is one of the most nuanced, complex, and interesting characters I’ve ever met. The last two years I’ve spent documenting Ben during this historical time, gave me a front row seat to his singular perspective. Ben brings together the history of America with the present moment in unimaginable ways and I’m thrilled to be working with Matthew Carnahan to share this story through a scripted narrative format.”
Benjamin Crump represented the families of George Floyd, Ahmaud Arbery and Trayvon Martin.
