50 Cent Raises $500K for Houston Children's Charity Effort
50 Cent continues to impact by recently raising $500,000 for the Houston Children’s Charity at its annual gala. He auctioned off two oversized bottles of his Le Chemin du Roi champagne.
In an Instagram video, the G-Unit leader expressed his enthusiasm for the event, stating, “Houston Children’s Charity is an amazing organization … I helped raise 500,000 for the kids last night. I had a ball.” The clip shows him entertaining the crowd with his humor, even joking that the auctioneer “might be on cocaine” due to his fast-paced speech and labeling the winning bidder as “rich as a muthaf**ka.
According to the organization’s official website, the Houston Children’s Charity was established to enhance the lives of underprivileged, abused, and disabled children in the Greater Houston area who have been overlooked. The 27th annual gala, held on Saturday (Oct. 19), set a new record by raising over $6.2 million, according to a post on the organization’s Instagram account. The event drew other celebrities, including actor Jeremy Renner and Pro Football Hall of Famer Andre Johnson.
In other news, on Tuesday (Oct. 15), 50 Cent announced that he will be headlining his first Las Vegas concert residency, called “50 Cent: In Da Club.” The shows will take place at PH Live in Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino, with six dates scheduled from late 2024 into early 2025, including a special performance on New Year’s Eve. “I always bring the energy, and Las Vegas is the perfect spot to create an unforgettable experience for my fans,” the “Baby by Me” hitmaker shared in a statement at the time.
