Dwight Howard and Royce Reed have made it a long way.

There was a long period of time when the NBA star and his notorious reality TV star baby mama couldn't even speak to each other — let alone be in the same room. But things have seemingly changed for the better for the sake of their eight-year-old son.

Earlier this week, Reed took to her Instagram, surprisingly including a shot of Dwight, herself and their son together as one happy family.

Clap for them for putting their son first.

They've come a long way, considering that Dwight once sued Royce for a ridiculous $500 million-plus for violating their court order six years ago and she returned fire by filing police reports on him over custody disputes through the years.

"They decided to stop hating each other and made a promise to their son they would get along," a source told TMZ Sports about them burying the hatchet.

Good for them.

Let's see if this weight off Dwight's shoulders will help him any when his eighth-seed Houston Rockets face the uphill battle of upsetting the defending NBA champion Golden State Warriors in a first-round playoff matchup beginning Saturday.
