Women’s History Month 2024: 10 Phenomenal Black Women Who Are Worth A Follow On TikTok
As we prepare to spring forward, it's only right that we spring into action while honoring women. And as you guessed it, around these parts, we're giving our flowers to Black women for Women's History Month.
Black women have always been the backbone of society, empowering our neighborhoods with strength despite circumstances that challenge our Blackness. And as the sisterhood between Black women grows tighter, so does our village.
With the rise in tech, that village has spilled over into social media and our reach is undeniable.
On TikTok, Black women are not just the future, they are the moment. But it hasn't been a smooth ride.
Since the app's inception in 2016, Black women content creators have made less money compared to white creators. There have also been challenges involving non-Black creators pirating content from Black users, as cited by Business Insider.
And as the app faces an uncertain future after the House passed a bill on Wednesday (March 13) that could ban the app in the United States, as cited by The New York Times, it's only right that we honor those who are making a difference in their respective industries.
Here are 10 women are who elevating style and beauty standards for today, and tomorrow on the app.
