Watch Jaden Smith's New Video for 'Scarface'
Jaden Smith’s viewpoints about rap music, life and motivation about a week ago are still something we can’t get over.
Smith expressed in this YouTube video his theory of stairs, creating your own set among rappers like Drake and Kanye West as you ascend to the top with your own individualistic sound. He also pointed out that a lot of hip-hop is similar and he wanted to be the one to change that. “I don’t like the music that I’m hearing because all of it is talking about hoes, clothes, and money.”
Last night, Smith dropped a new video for a song called “Scarface.” The highly-gifted rapper is experimenting with a different flow this time around, possibly influenced by Drizzy or Future. The visuals, directed by Moisés Arias, seems to have a deeper meaning as Jaden is rapping alone at night surrounding by dilapidated buildings and shadowy figures trying to kill him. Maybe it’s a message that this type of rap should be no more?
