Latto's relationship with her father appears to be strained. The "Sunday Service" rapper recently opened up about it on her Instagram Story, posting a touching video of a father and his pilot daughter. Alongside the clip, she added a bittersweet caption: "Awww. My dad steals from me and tells everyone I’m in the Illuminati [Laughing emojis]."

While the Atlanta native didn’t elaborate further, this isn’t the first time she opened up about her relationship with her dad, Shayne Stephens, who was once her manager. During a cover interview for XXL’s Winter 2023 issue, Latto said she regrets mixing family with business. “I’ve had a lot of regrets… Mixing family and business, that’s, like, one of my biggest regrets. I was introduced to everyone with my dad as my manager, and now we don’t even speak, so it’s like, I hate that,” she said. 

In the interview, the 25-year-old was asked what led to her and her father not speaking. “Money. Industry s***. Ego s*** infiltrated by industry bulls***. They be saying [your parent as your manager] never works out anyway, so I wish I would have just never even did it,” she explained.

In brighter news, Latto recently made history as the first solo female rapper from her city of Atlanta to top Billboard’s Top Rap Albums chart with her latest album, Sugar Honey Iced Tea.
