Successful musicians, athletes and actors oftentimes think of their families when they finally strike it rich.

Nas bought his mom a home off the success of It Was Written, and even though Trey Songz has been a mainstream name for several years now, he’s just finally getting around to giving back to the woman who created him.

Taking to Instagram, the Virginia-born crooner announced that he bought his mother a home yesterday (June 21) and was really proud that he was able to do so.

“Bought a home today! Made my mother proud,” he captioned in the post. “Thank you Father for blessing me. I'm highly favored and I know that comes with many blessings as well as hardships. Thank you for trusting me with the weight. Amen.”

Don’t get it twisted, buying your parents a home at any point in your career is an amazing gesture. And knowing how close Trey is with his mom, this story can’t help but make you smile.
