2024 NAACP Image Awards: 5 Roles That Showcase Seth Carr's Talent

The rising 16-year-old actor has already worked with many of Hollywood’s big-name stars.

Seth Carr may be best known for playing a young Killmonger in Marvel’s “Black Panther,” but the young Hollywood star has also proved to be an immense talent in other projects. The Nickelodeon alum jumped into the industry as a model when he was only three years old and earned his first acting credits in long-running TV shows like “Days of Our Lives,” “Ray Donovan,” and “Brooklyn Nine-Nine.” He later made his MCU debut, leading to other career-defining opportunities in film and TV.

Now, for the first time, Carr is up for “Outstanding Performance in a Short Form Series” at the 2024 NAACP Image Awards for Disney’s “Launchpad.” Join us as we examine five roles showcasing the nominee’s stellar talent.

  • Black Panther

In 2018, Carr snagged one of his first significant movie roles portraying the younger version of Michael B. Jordan’s archvillain Killmonger in the Marvel blockbuster “Black Panther.” The Ryan Coogler-directed superhero flick, led by the late Chadwick Boseman, became a billion-dollar hit that spawned an equally successful sequel, “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever.”

  • Bosch

Carr joined the third and fourth seasons of Amazon crime drama “Bosch,” which follows a detective (played by Titus Williver) who tries to solve the murder of a young boy while also on trial for homicide. The child actor recurred in six episodes as Joe Edgar, the son of characters played by Jamie Hector and Ingrid Rogers.

  • Breaking In

Shortly after his Marvel movie and streaming series, Carr starred in the action-thriller “Breaking In” along with Gabrielle Union and Ajiona Alexus. The suspenseful film follows a mother's getaway trip with her two children, which soon becomes a rescue mission when intruders turn their vacation into a home invasion.

  • The Main Event

For his first leading film role, Carr starred as an aspiring 11-year-old wrestler with magical powers in Netflix’s sports comedy “The Main Event.” The actor’s castmates included TV legend Tichina Arnold and “Percy Jackson and the Olympians” star Aryan Simhadri.

  • The Mysterious Benedict Society

From 2021 to 2022, Carr enjoyed a two-season run in Disney+’s adventure adaptation “The Mysterious Benedict Society.” He starred as the intelligent George “Sticky” Washington” in the show, based on Trenton Lee Stewart’s book series about four gifted orphans whom an eccentric sponsor recruits for a dangerous secret mission.
