Cosmopolitan is bringing its “fun, fearless female” stories to the Middle East, and the glossy tapped Khloe Kardashian to be the inaugural cover girl for its 62nd international edition.
Sure, it’s hard to imagine the magazine known for its candid sex tips mixing with the region’s local culture, but, for Kardashian, it was a shock to believe the brand wanted her. "Never in my wildest dreams did I think that I would be on the cover of Cosmo because I never knew it was an option," Khloe admitted on her blog. "When they sent me the email to be on the cover I said to my publicist, 'I think you meant to send this to Kim.' LOL. She was like 'No crazy girl! This is for you!'"
Khloe posed for the issue in a belted red dress and the huge wedding sparkler her husband Lamar Odom gave her. Inside, she spoke about her marriage to the NBA star and was very candid about the pressures of living up to the Kardashian body image.
"Kim and Kourtney have said to me, 'If we were put under the same negative attention that you are, we couldn't handle it,” she said. “If I want to wear a long flowing dress, someone will say I'm pregnant. I believe we're not given any more than we can handle, and most of the time I can handle it. But we all have fat days and if I'm having one of those days, those sorts of things make me feel down." Still, the reality star said she was happy to see how she looked in her photo shoot.
Cosmopolitan Middle East will be an English-language international edition set to hit newsstands in Lebanon, Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates on April 1.
