Report: Kanye West Settles Paparazzi Lawsuit
Kanye West has settled a civil lawsuit filed against him for attacking a photographer at LAX in July 2013. The 37-year-old officially cleared the air with a handshake and an apology to pap Daniel Ramos, TMZ reports.
While the apology was actually part of the settlement, it is unclear if there was a monetary component to the resolution.
"We believe that this case sent an important message,” said veteran attorney Gloria Allred, who is representing Ramos. “Celebrities are not above the law, and they have no right to physically attack someone simply because they were asked a question."
Three months after the run-in, West told paparazzi that Ramos set him up. "He fell down, faked it…then people talking about, 'Oh, yo, why'd you hit the guy?' I obviously didn't hit the guy."
Ramos previously said that scuffling with Yeezy caused him to walk with a cane. He also recalled being “terrified” by the Chicago native.
West was charged with misdemeanor battery for the incident and is currently on probation.
