Cedella Marley Beautifully Honors Her Father's 'One Love' Song With A Limited-Edition Collection With Fossil
For International Women's Day, Fossil has partnered with Cedella Marley on a limited-edition collection. The author, designer, and recording artist created a collection in honor of her reggae roots. Inspired by her father Bob Marley's hit single "One Love" and her Jamaican heritage, she has created a line to embody the spirit of togetherness.
As part of Fossil's #MakeTimeForGood initiative, the brand promises to donate 25% of proceeds from the limited-edition collection to World Pulse. This non-profit organization uses social networking to drive social change by empowering women. Additionally, they are also making a donation of $10,000 to the Bob and Rita Marley Foundation to support the Jamaica Women's National Football Program activities, for which Cedella Marley serves as a global ambassador.
BET spoke exclusively to Cedella on what inspired her collection. She says, "My dad wrote the song "One Love" in 1977. Today in 2022, I think the message is as important as ever. It's a song of equality. One love means love for everyone, for all humanity. It doesn't matter the color, creed, social status, or anything like that. It's appreciating being a part of the human family. I thought it was the perfect touch to these pieces."
Since 2014, Cedella has worked to bring awareness and support to this program, which helps to level the playing field for young Jamaican girls using football to empower, higher education and success both on and off the pitch.
The limited-edition collection consists of a necklace, 35MM rose gold-tone watch, and bracelet, along with Fossil's top-selling Parker Convertible Backpack and Logan Zip Clutch. Prices range from $100 - $280. Check out the collection here!
