Drake Says He Wanted to Be Like Bow Wow During Atlanta Show
Drake once again gave fellow rapper Bow Wow his flowers after recently walking out with the “Like You” emcee during the second night of back-to-back shows in Atlanta.
The pair walked out together at the State Farm Arena on Tuesday (September 26) as Drake’s 2012 single “Look What You’ve Done” blasted throughout the venue. Upon taking the stage, the OVO Sound hitmaker paid homage to Bow Wow for being a childhood inspiration.
“Shout out my boy Bow Wow for walking me to stage tonight,” he shared. “I gotta say, Atlanta got a lot of legends, but that’s somebody who I wanted to be like growing up, so shout out to Bow Wizzle walking me to stage.”
Drake has long been vocal about his admiration for the “Let Me Hold You” rapper. Nearly three years ago, the Canadian rap star made history after his three-track EP “Scary Hours 2” debuted in the top slots of the Billboard Hot 100 simultaneously.
During an event celebrating the achievement, Drake made a toast to his team and
supporters before taking a moment to acknowledge Bow Wow, who had been in attendance.
“I had to link with Wizzle,” he said in the clip. “Everybody wants to have drinks, and everybody wants to celebrate and turn up, and, you know, I just had to see Wizzle. I had to see Wizzle in person. If it wasn’t for you, there wouldn’t be no me. That’s why — you know the rest, that’s why I’mma rock with y’all forever more.”
