Swizz Beatz has been calling himself a monster for years, so his latest business venture makes perfect sense. The Grammy Award-winning producer has signed on as an investor and board member for Monster Cable Inc.

Prior to the partnership becoming official on Wednesday, Swizz talked about it at the Consumer Electronics show in January.

"This is a graduation for Monster, and it’s a graduation for me. For Monster, it shows they are investing in the culture. They are not doing things just to get by. In the next few months, the world will see who the monsters are in this world."

Monster becomes the latest addition to the veteran producer’s business portfolio, as he’s helped relaunch other brands like Lotus Cars and most recently Reebok. Monster CEO Noel Lee is delighted to have Swizzy on board in place of Dr. Dre who recently opted not to renew his 5-year contract with the company for his signature line Beats by Dre.

"Swizz will advise us on our creative direction, product design and our marketing. We'll be looking to him to tell us what’s next," says Lee. "He doesn't get involved in something unless he believes in it."
