Chris Brown's Publicist Quits
It should’ve been a joyous week for Chris Brown, with the release of his album F.A.M.E., which he’s been hyping for weeks, but his offscreen outburst after a Good Morning America appearance resulted in him apologizing the next day. Now, his publicist has quit in the aftermath.
According to the New York Post, Brown’s longtime publicist, Tammy Brook, "will no longer be representing him after the star trashed his GMA dressing room, smashed a window and left without his shirt from the morning talk show earlier this week."
The singer claims that GMA host Robin Roberts went beyond the "talking points" that were previously discussed with his team. "I felt like they told us this just so they could get us on the show so they can exploit me," Brown explained on BET's 106 & Park during a formal apology. “I took it very, very hard, and I really kinda kept my composure throughout the whole interview. Although you can see me upset, I kept my composure, I did my performance.”
F.A.M.E. is currently No. 1 on iTunes. Brown appears on 106 & Park again tonight.
UPDATE:
Chris Brown and his publicist have gone their separate ways ... TMZ has learned. The publicist, Tammy Brook , tells TMZ the separation was mutual -- no one was fired and no one quit. Brook tells us, "I am an entertainment/music publicist and was hired as a publicist, as they often are, to work specifically on his music publicity for the term up to the release of Chris Brown's F.A.M.E. album, which was released on Tuesday March 22 and is entering the Billboard and iTunes charts at number 1 this week." She adds, "I love and support Chris and it has been an honor to be a part of this album and I look forward to the possibility of working with him again in the future."
