Teen pop sensation Justin Bieber and rapper Eminem dominated tonight's Billboard Music Awards by taking home six trophies each. Eminem won awards for Top Artist, Top Male Artist, Top Billboard 200 Album, Top Rap Artist, Top Rap Song and Top Rap Album. He previously won two Billboard Music Awards in 2002 for Best Album of the Year and Best R&B/Hip Hop Album Of The Year, bringing his total up to eight career Billboard Music Awards. His awards were not presented during the ceremony.
Bieber, the Billboard.com Fan Favorite Award winner, also won Top New Artist, Top Social Artist, Top Streaming Artist, Top Digital Media Artist, Top Pop Album and Top Streaming Song (video). Not bad for his first Billboard Music Awards.
There was a six-way tie for second-place; Rihanna, Lady Gaga, Taylor Swift, Usher, Mumford & Sons and Taio Cruz each came away with three trophies. And Shakira, Katy Perry, Chris Tomlin and Train just landed in the multiples club with two awards each.
The awards show, the first since 2007, also gave special recognition to Beyoncé and Neil Diamond's lifetime achievements with the Millenium and Icon Awards respectively as well as presenting a Touring trophy to U2. For a complete list of winners, visit billboard.com.
