At least 11 people in Haiti have been killed from mudslides and flooding after heavy rains inundated the capital Monday night.
Streets were turned into rivers, writes the Associated Press. Women were heard screaming for help as water pounded temporary settlements in Port-au-Prince after last year's powerful earthquake.
The seaside slum of Cite Soleil flooded and walls toppled in the hills above Port-au-Prince.
The country is preparing for hurricane season and government officials are worried about exacerbating a cholera outbreak that already has killed 5,000 people.
The rest of the Caribbean hasn't been spared from rain storms. There were reports of flooding in the Dominican Republic and also Jamaica.
