Katt Williams is back on your TV screens, folks!

After some time away, the comedian has made his grand return as Earn's crazy uncle, "Alligator Man," in Donald Glover's hit FX series Atlanta — Yes, he actually acted alongside a live 'gator in the episode. Determined to ensure that he delivered with the one-of-a-kind role, Williams went to extreme lengths to bring his character to life.

Williams, who, showed during Thursday night's Atlanta season two premiere that he's more than just "the funny man," explained to Complex that he did some extensive research to make sure "Alligator Man" was the real deal.

Speaking on how he snagged the role, he explained that he initially didn't believe he was fully prepared, so he took it upon himself to do the unexpected to bring out that authenticity.

"The first two times I auditioned, I wasn't good enough and other people were better," he said. "I just kept at it, and then I interned at an alligator farm for three-and-a-half weeks, just so I could get comfortable enough that we didn't use a stuntman. I really adopted the alligator into my home. And became so comfortable with it that it was like working with anothet co-star."

He went on to describe that experience as "life-changing."
