Washington Wizards point guard John Wall underwent surgery Tuesday to treat an injury in his left heel. While Wall is expected to miss the remainder of the 2018-2019 season, his competitors are wishing him a speedy recovery.

Wall will likely spend the next six to eight months in the recuperating stages. With Wall on the bench, Tomas Satoransky is acting as the Wizards' starting point guard. So far, Satoransky is averaging 12.2 points a game, reported CBS Sports.

After the surgery, Wall posted a photo from his hospital bed with the caption, “Smilin is Good for the Soul.”

Everyone from LeBron James to Wale commented on Wall’s photo and wished him well.

Wall opted for the surgery after suffering from bone spurs in his left heel for about four to five years. The guard told NBC Sports the pain became so severe he could barely run or walk on his left foot.

"You could see in the Cleveland game (on Dec. 8). It would be terrible and I could barely run," he told NBC. "It was getting worse every time I played on it. So, it got to the point where it was like, 'I have to do something to fix it.'"

Hopefully this puts an end to the injury reports for Wall, who had several procedures, fractures and surgeries every year since 2015.

Wall also believes his team will still pull off some wins without him.

"They have enough talent to win," Wall said. "I think these guys know. They have a great leader in Brad also who knows what he's doing to help these guys out. They have great vets in Jeff [Green] and Trevor Ariza and those guys can help. These guys still have the talent to go out there and win."
