The year 2015 may have been all about the #squad, but you’ve never seen one as fierce as this. Kode Magazine has assembled a modern-day pantheon of rising African-American female starlets in Hollywood for its 10th issue, and it’s so good, it’s almost hard to believe it’s real. (Oh yes, it’s real.)

Disney actress Zendaya Coleman, Vampire Diaries actress Kat Graham, Empire’s Serayah McNeill, Dope actress Kiersey Clemons, Black-ish’s Yara Shahidi and How to Get Away With Murder actress Aja Naomi King together cover the new January issue, dubbed #GenerationNoir, and each have their own fierce solo covers.

According to the magazine, in their interviews the stars “discuss upcoming projects as well as what it truly means to be a Black women in Hollywood and why it matters so much.” The stunning black-and-white portraits were shot by Bradford Rogne and the ladies don high-fashion styles from designers such as Stella McCartney, August Getty, 4th and Reckless, Nine Muses, Adolfo Sanchez and more.
