Tyra Winters was enjoying another homecoming parade for Rockwall high school, when from atop her float she saw a mother panicking asking for help holding a baby. 

"I see the kid. I see a little bright red face and his mom's holding him up, begging for help, screaming, asking 'someone help me someone help me,'" she told CBS DFW. 

Winters sprung into action grabbed the child and gave him three three strong back thrusts, which she learned during CPR training, that made him spit up the candy he was choking on.

The incident occurred on September 18, but 2-year-old Clarke and his mom, Nicole Hornback, wanted to come to Winters’ school and thank her again in person.

"I commend her for being a teenager and being trained," Hornback said. "She saved my baby."

It’s not every day you save a life. Kudos to Tyra, on a wonderful heroic effort.
