Dr. Vincent Laudone at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in New York City performed the 66-year-old’s surgery, Today reports.

“Hope to see you all soon,” he concluded.

Roker announced his prostate cancer diagnosis during last Friday’s broadcast of Today. And said that wanted to go public with the news to raise awareness surrounding prostate cancer that affects one in nine men.

"It's a good news–bad news kind of thing," he said on Today. "Good news is we caught it early. Not great news is that it's a little aggressive, so I'm going to be taking some time off to take care of this."
