Lil Bibby Says No More Freebie Music

The Chicago rapper is looking to capitalize with his next release, The Book.

2014 XXL freshman Lil Bibby is looking to test his lyrical clout on the retail market this year, he told BET.com.

The Chicago upstart revealed his peaking interest in earning cash dollars behind his upcoming project, The Book, specifically"I gave out the Free Crack [mixtape] for free, so I want to see how many people will actually buy my next project," the "Water" rapper said. "I still don't hear no music that's topping mines."

With the buzz surrounding his last body of work still on a steep incline, the Chiraq native appears to have no "chill button" in sight, as he steadily drops visuals from 2013's Free Crack, most recently the Young Chop-produced banger "Tired of Talking."

Still on the fence about whether or not the highly anticipated TB will be released as an EP or full-length collection, the young MC blames the delay on having an abundance of bangers to choose from.

"I got a lot of good songs on there, I don't know if it's going to be an EP," says Bib. "I'm having a hard time picking the songs. I might have to put all of them on there, so it might be more than six songs."

While most artists would consider this a good problem, the ambitious rapper does promise fans that the project will be worth the wait, just like it's predecessor.

"The Book will be able to compete with a lot of people's albums," he boasts. "It's going to sound like an album; it has an album feel."
