‘Real Housewives Of Atlanta’ Star Kandi Burruss Joins The Cast Of Lena Waithe’s ‘The Chi’
Kandi Burruss has so many reasons to celebrate lately. Aside from reportedly expecting another child via surrogate, the Real Housewives of Atlanta star has announced that she is joining the cast of Showtime's The Chi for its upcoming third season.
According to Deadline, Burruss will play a character named Roselyn Perry, described as "the estranged wife of Douda (Curtiss Cook), back at his side to influence his political agenda and to help herself."
She joins Luke James, La La Anthony and Lil Rel Howery as new recurring characters on the show. Series regulars including Ntare Guma Mbaho Mwine, Jacob Latimore, Alex Hibbert, Yolonda Ross, Shamon Brown Jr., Michael Epps and Birgundi Baker are set to return for season three.
The reality star and entrepreneur shared her excitement about her casting with her Instagram followers.
"I'm thankful to God for all the blessings that's happening in my life right now!" she captioned a screenshot of Deadline's report. "So excited to share that I've joined #TheChi for a recurring role in season 3!!!!! Thank you @lenawaithe & The Chi team for allowing me to be a part of this amazing show! I can't wait for the world to meet [Roselyn] Perry!"
Season 3 of The Chi premieres in 2020 on Showtime.
