Megan Thee Stallion 'Good News' Album Sales Hit 100K In First Week
The first-week sales numbers for Megan Thee Stallion’s debut album Good News are here and, it turns out, she’s sold just as well as expected.
According to Nielsen Music/MRC Data, Good News sold 100,500 album-equivalent units for the week ending on Nov 26. This put her at the No. 2 spot on the Billboard 200 during that period, finishing just behind Korean K-pop group BTS’s Be.
Megan’s album was the most streamed album from last week and had the distinction of becoming Megan's third project to debut in the Top 10 of the chart following her Fever mixtape, which debuted at No. 10 last June, and her Suga EP that hit No. 7 in May.
Megan released Good News on Nov. 20. The LP features her new hit single, “Body,” with a video starring Taraji P. Henson, and the “Shots Fired” diss to Tory Lanez, who allegedly shot the rapper in her feet following an argument in July.
In a recent interview on Ebro in the Morning, Megan spoke about her decision to release “Shots Fired.”
"It comes a time where it gets hard to be the bigger person sometimes," she said. "And at the end of the day, I can't just keep letting people walk all over me. I can't keep letting people take these jabs at me and I'm not gon' say nothing. That's just not in my nature."
Good News also features DaBaby, City Girls, Lil Durk, SZA, Popcaan, Big Sean, 2 Chainz, and Beyoncé.
