Sir Mix-A-Lot Reveals Jennifer Lopez Inspired ‘Baby Got Back’
If you've ever wondered how Sir Mix-A-Lot had the guts to create the world's greatest ode to big butts, look no further than Ms. "Booty" herself, Jennifer Lopez.
Reports TMZ, Mix wrote his hit 1992 song "Baby Got Back" after watching J. Lo — then simply known as a Fly Girl — on an episode of In Living Color. "She's sweat, wet/ Got it goin' like a turbo 'Vette," he spits in the lyrics, and then apparently speaks her mega-movie star career into existence. "L.A. face with an Oakland booty," he points out.
Mix also shouts out another inspiration in the song, Flo Jo. And while he is quite impressed, for example, with the recent display of derrière offered by Kim Kardashian and her nude shoot with famed French photographer Jean Paul Goude for Paper magazine, he tells the site, more than two decades later, J.Lo's round thing is still the only one that has him sprung.
