Eager to shine the spotlight on our fellow sisters, we decided to pull out the confetti and celebrate some of the most memorable Black Girl Magic moments in recent months—in no particular order!

“She wanted to come out, she wanted to make a difference and be heard," Lakyia Jackson told CBS New York. "I think that we all should encourage our kids to know what’s going on with the current events."

George Floyd's 6-year-old daughter, Gianna Floyd is strong. While the world continues to mourn the senseless police killing of her father, the adorable young lady mustered up the courage to speak on live TV.
"I miss him," Gianna told Good Morning America on June 3 with her mom, Roxie Washington, by her side.
In the interview, we also learned that Gianna wants to be a doctor when she grows up because she wants to “take care of people.”

Sistahs are doing it for themselves! Actress and activist, Keshia Knight Pulliam and business partner, Arian Simone created the Fearless Fund— a venture capitalist initiative to help make Black women’s entrepreneurial dreams come true.
So far the pair have Ellis Island Ice Tea, EnrichHER, and 100 Black Angels Fund listed in their portfolio. We are sure that we can expect more Black excellence from these ladies in 2020!

It was an iconic moment when makeup brand owners, Desiree Rogers and Cheryl Mayberry McKissack contacted the Johnson Publishing Company and successfully purchased the legendary cosmetics brand, Fashion Fair Cosmetics, which was founded in 1973.
This came a few months after the lovely ladies purchased the popular makeup brand BLK/OPL (formerly Black Opal), known for making makeup for women of color since 1994.
