JT Announces Release Date For First Solo Project ‘City Cinderella’

The Miami rapper’s 16-track mixtape drops on July 19.

On Tuesday (July 2), JT announced the release date of her debut solo project. The 16-track mixtape, City Cinderella, will be released on Friday (July 19).

On the mixtape’s artwork, JT sits on a puddle of water with ice-carved as her legs. “City Cinderella coming.... 7/19. Pre-save link in bio. My hands shaking posting this. Juvies we here,” the Miami rapper wrote in an Instagram post.

This news comes almost a month after the City Girls publicly announced their split. Yung Miami confirmed it during an interview with Complex while addressing the poor commercial reception of the duo’s last album, RAW. “I think when the City Girls album dropped and it didn’t do too well and we was just like trying to do our press run. You know, the whole rollout of the album was just so bad because we were just in two different spaces,” she told the outlet. “We’re older now and she was doing her own thing on the West Coast, I’m in Miami doing my own thing. And I felt like naturally, when she’s doing her own thing, it just works for her. And when I’m doing my own thing, it works for me.”

The “CFWM” rapper continued, “But when we get together as a group, it just wasn’t connecting, it just wasn’t working no more. I think we were both at a point where it was just like, we should probably just do our own shit. That was the point for me.”

JT’s latest single, “OKAY,” secured JT’s first solo placement on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, which peaked at No. 74. Jeezy also hopped on the remix.
